About
The IRS offers free basic tax return preparation through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) programs. These programs serve people with low/moderate income, people with disabilities, limited English-speaking taxpayers, or people 60 years of age and older.
The University of Missouri Extension sponsors these programs and provides services in partnership with community organizations and volunteers.
Volunteers are trained and certified by the IRS - they provide high-quality, accurate return preparation. Taxpayers can also get financial education focused on practical strategies to increase savings, reduce debt, and improve credit.
